Okay, so I’m back from Fiji, and I haven’t slept right in like a week. I was living in The Future for almost a week (we crossed the Date Line on the way over there, so even though it’s only a 5 hour time difference, we magically were transported into tomorrow for 6 days), and now that I’m back to Now, my body still thinks it’s in The Future. The Future, it seems, is just like Now, except the people are nicer, the water is warmer, and you get to have breakfast every morning overlooking an infinity pool and palm trees gently swaying in the breeze. The Future I visited is technically only Tomorrow, so I keep going to bed hoping to wake up to a pastel sunrise over the emerald waters of the South Pacific, but every time I’m disappointed to find out that instead of waking up in Tomorrow, I’m still stuck in Now.
So I’m pretty confident to say that The Future is fabulous, and we all have a lot to look forward to in a bright, sunny Tomorrow… if we could just figure out how to get out of Now and into Tomorrow without an 11-hour plane ride, that would be even better. Because all I can seem to live in while I’m here is Now. Oh well! At least I have something to look forward to!
I managed to bring back some photos from my time travels. First of all, it seems that in The Future, Bruce Lee does cameos in airplane safety cards, and that he has the ability to transform (in the last frame) into an ape-man. My style is the art of donning a life vest without donning a life vest.

Second, it seems that in The Future, we don’t have any of those pesky TSA security precautions. Observe the open door to the cockpit on our inter-island flight. Plane hijackings in The Future apparently aren’t a concern anymore…

But like I said, The Future is awful pretty. Here are some nice pictures of the resort. Pretty pretty. Pretty.

But honestly, the best time I had during my whole trip was hanging out with my wife on our first morning there, having coffee, watching the sunrise, peering over the pier at the fishies, and just chatting away for about 3 hours. Love ya, Mouse!

So that’s all for now – Chenin will be posting some shots from the wedding on her blog pretty soon (she has a lot more images to get through before posting than I do), and after all our wedding-related stuff this weekend, I’ll be back to shooting for my portfolio next week.

I enjoyed reading your post; didn’t know you could write too … problem is my wife was looking over my shoulder at the images, and now she wants to go to Fiji (in the future) …

Fiji is beautiful! (And so looks The Future, as well). Somehow when life slows down, we get to really enjoy the things we really enjoyed in the first place (the person we married, hopefully!). Looking forward T(t)he F(f)uture.
